Take a stand women!
The most horrible crime a man commits is proving to be a macho hero by hurting his wife mentally,physically,emotionally & sexually! How dare you! And it pains me more when women allow that to happen! Why? There’s absolutely no justification for this act. It traumatises not only the woman for life but the kids involved as well! It emotionally draines the women,gives her low self esteem & lose all sexual interest!
Why? How would you feel if the man marrying your daughter or sister hurts her in this way? How would you feel if your father raised his hand on your mother? This is not a social issue…this is a man’s ego issue! It’s his insecurity & I urge all the women to stand up for their rights & speak up! Pls learn to fight for yourself! Be your own advocate! Unfortunately the South Asian families do not provide ample support & back off in fear of fake family honor! My dear women…..you must take a stand for yourself,be strong & help yourself! These are not just words…I speak from a close call!

I really don’t know why you guys are bringing Islam in your discussion. A great sscholar said that one has no right to refernce something with no knowledge. I will stand for any one but only in favor conditions. If we have a girl raised like a western and no one cares about what she does then parents have no right to say anything when they feel like oh we missed that. Yes but if someone was raised under good conditions but get into bad company and then start screwing every person he or she meets then parents have all the right to do whatever they can.
Its hard for anyone to understand because Allah give us brain and He is the one who give us knowledge too. No doubt He is great.

Your true words are Raised Muslim dont be so Niave sir !!!!!Not all Americans are sexually promiscuous what about Muslim Americans ?the question here is If a muslim girl gets commits fornication or adultery should she be murdered by her father and should women be punished by their husbands and degraded for their ISSUES!!!!

At the end it comes to being illaterate, uneducated etc etc because you didn’t like what someone wrote. Problem with our people is that everyone wants to create their own version of Islam.
I can read very clearly that why you brought Islam in this topic but its you who have to understand what religion means. Why you didn’t mention all the new born girls buried alive by hindus in India. And there are many other topics like this especially against women.
And to answer Zahara, you tell me what should be done if a muslim girl commits adultery because the answer is very clear in Islam and i bet its against your expectations. some people want to change concepts in Islam as done by Jews. Hindus and Christians to make life easy but its not possible.

I think what “muslim” women should do is go out and get pre emptive divorce. women are angels, and never do any thing harmful to a human being (including their men). Pre emptive divorce is the only solution, as no one can touch, feel, talk, hurt, hug, slap, caress, argue with them. They should then proceed to mary white people, who are the best at treating their women (as evidenced by the jerry springer show and cops).

There IS a good reason that she is bringing Islam into the issue of mental/emotional/physical violence. We have had, and continue to have, way way way too many instances of this in marriages. And the reason we shouldn’t is because Islam is so precious, such a precious formula that we have in out hands…with such beautiful examples like the Prophet pbuh, how can WE AS “MUSLIMS” disregard this and abuse one another?
There IS a serious issue in verses being interpreted in certain ways, and there HAS to be serious discussion over the supposed long standing “translation” of verses involving hitting a wife, etc. There is good evidence that it does NOT even suggest physical hitting. But the fact that there hasn’t been discussion is a HUGE issue. Things like this have led to men taking advantage of the whole “men over women” thing…many people have cheapened it and made it totally stupid and self serving.
our community has a huge issue. we need to address it within our community specifically because the root of it is a little different than that of those that are not muslim. ours involves some religious “interpretation” and cultural baggage that we have to address in order to work on the problem.
there are too many “muslim” husbands that are a shame to the name of muslim men. we are above this. but even OUR GENERATION (im 27) is still stuck in the mud. Thanks Samia for making some noise. we need more.
